STEEL RAILROAD-CAR BOX ASSEMBLY PLANT GENERAL DESCRIPTION
("Gargoyle" for steel railroad car-box )
The plant is made up of a base consisting in one inner sill panel and transversals on which the supporting pillars and the hydraulic cylinders are placed to block the box floor, and by a column structure that, through reference modules and mechanical blocks, links the sides to the floor and to the roof of the railroad-car. On this structure 4 motorised slides, two for upper level and two for the lower level complete with guns and electrodes have been installed for the spot welding of the steel plate on the structure of the box. On the column structure a platform is fitted, extendible almost to the box profile, which allows the operators access to the upper slides and to the lateral walls blocking modules. A motorised lifting trolley will be placed on the base, both on the front and back part, for welding operations of the front walls. The electrical control part is contained in a closet, placed on the floor near the middle of the plant.
Size of the plant
- Total length 30.000 mm (access stair excluded)
- Total width 8.868 mm
- Total height about 5.000 mm
